George
Russell - One of jazz and modern music's most innovative
and influential composer/arranger/theoretician/educators and
conductor of the
famed Living Time Orchestra, George is
a recipient of the prestigious McArthur award and a National
Endowment for the Arts American Jazz Master who recently retired
as Distinguished Artist-in-Residence, Jazz Studies and Improvisation
and Jazz Orchestra at the New England Convservatory of Music.
The second volume
of his Lydian
Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization was published in 2001.
Oliver
Lake - Multi-reedman/composer/poet/painter/educator
and co-founder of the World Saxophone Quartet, Oliver is an
eclectic musician
who leads
a variety of ensembles. He is founder of Passin' Thru, Inc. and Passin'
Thru Records and is one of the most heavily commissioned composers
to emerge from the jazz tradition.

Thru Records - In existence since 1998, its primary
objective is to produce important music by musicians not widely
known to the listening public.
Makanda Ken McIntyre -
World-renowned multi-instrumentalist, composer, orchestrator
and educator who was a tireless musical innovator
for nearly half a century. He founded and chaired the American
Music, Dance and Theatre Program at SUNY-Old Westbury, which
was one
of
the country's first departments dedicated to the arts in the
African American tradition. He retired as a professor emeritus
in 1995 and
passed away in 2001.

Rowland - Peabody
award-winning radio documentarian whose credits include The Miles
Davis Radio Project and documentaries on Frank Zappa and George
Clinton, his five-part series on John Coltrane entitled Tell
Me How Long Trane's Been Gone aired across the U.S.in 2001 in celebration
of Coltrane's 75th birthday.

artist and artistic director, Craig is the founder of Nation of
Imagination, Inc., a non-profit
organization devoted to the development of large-scale multi-media
collaborative works
as well as educating and creating new opportunities for emerging
artists.
